Church Covenanta

This is NOT as an addition to scripture, but as being based on the scriptures. This should not be offensive to any one who is willing to take up the task of church membership by the leadership of the holy spirit and the good pleasure of God the Father. - I Corinthians 12:12-27

Having been led as we believe, by the spirit of Godb to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as our Saviorc and on the profession of our faithd, having been baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghoste, we do now, in the presence of God, angels and this assembly, most solemnly and joyfully enter into covenant with one another, as one body in Christf.

We engage, therefore, by the aid of the Holy Spiritg, to walk together in Christian loveh, to strive for the advancement of this churchi in knowledgej, holinessk, and comfortl; to promote its prosperity and spirituality; to sustain its worshipm ordinances, disciplinen, and doctrineso; to contribure cheerfully and regularlyp to the support of the ministryq, the expenses of the churchr, the relief of the poors, and the spread of the gospel through all nationst. We also engage to maintain familyu and secret devotionv; to religiously educate our childrenw; to seek the salvation of our kindred and acquaintancesx, to walk circumspectly in the worldy , to be just in our dealingsz, faithful in our engagementsaa, and exemplary in our deportmentab; to avoid all tattlingac, backbitingad, and excessive angerae; to abstain from the sale and use of intoxicating drinks as a beverageaf, and to be zealous in our efforts to advance the kingdom of our savior.

We further engage to watchag over one another in brotherly loveah; to remember eachother in prayerai; to aid eachother in sickness and distressaj; to cultivate Christian sympathy in feelingak and courtesy in speechal to be slow to take offenseam, but always ready for reconciliation and mindful of the rules of our Saviour, to secure it without delayan.

We moreover engage that when we remove from this place, we will as soon as possible unite with some other church where we can carry out the spirit of this covenant and the principles of God's wordao.
